Nameri National Park,which forms the core area of the NTR falls within the Nameri Wildlife Range is under the administrative control of DFO, Western Assam Wildlife Division, Tezpur. The overall control of the PA rests with Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) Assam & the Chief Wildlife Warden of Assam.

The eastern buffer as well as western buffer of NTR are managed by the DFOs of Sonitpur East and Sonitpur West division respectively.  The DFO, Western Assam Wildlife Division also acts as Field Director, Nameri Tiger Reserve. He is assisted by a Deputy Director of ACF rank officer and Range officer, Nameri Wildlife Range, Potasali.
This team of officers supervise everyday field works, patrolling duties, anti-poaching drives, maintenance of park's infrastructure and implementation of various projects. For ensuring the protection of forest and wildlife, a total of 20 anti-poaching camps have been constructed at strategic locations inside the core area.
